Symbolic Plot

A Pole Plot or Dip Vector Plot is capable of displaying feature attribute information, in the form of colour coded / symbolic plots, using the Symbolic Plot option.

The Symbolic Plot option is available in the toolbar, the View menu, or by right-clicking on a Pole Plot. To create a Symbolic Plot:

  1. First create a Pole Plot.

  2. Right-click on the Pole Plot, and select Symbolic Pole Plot.

  3. In the Symbolic Pole Plot dialog, change the Plot Style to Symbolic Pole Plot.

  4. Select the data column that you wish to plot from the drop-down list.

  5. Select the appropriate Data Type -- Qualitative or Quantitative.

  6. Select OK to generate the Symbolic Pole Plot.

The above steps will create a default plot of the data.

NOTE:

Create Corresponding Chart

To create a corresponding chart from a Symbolic Plot, simply right click on the Symbolic Pole Plot and select Create Corresponding Chart from the right-click menu. A new chart view will be automatically generated, using the same data and settings selected for the Symbolic Plot.
